Golf Fitness - How to add 10 yards to your drives in under 3 weeks
Presented by: Les Ross - Director of Golf at Highlander LLC School of Golf and author of "Breaking the Distance Barrier" Time : 45 minutes Level : All Players Description: This seminar is the last of the 5 step series outlined in "Breaking the Distance Barrier". There is only so much power that can be gained by altering your swing. Further improvements to distance require conditioning of your golf muscles. This seminar covers simple low impact golf muscle conditioning routines that will increase the range of motion of the swing and increase the torque in your swing for added power and distance. The seminar consists of three parts: Part I. We review some of the "Physics" of the swing that was covered in Step 4 only as a reminder of which areas of the body are contributing to the power of the swing. This allows us to focus on these muscle groups in particular to increase their strength and flexibility. Part II Exercise programs will work only if they become part of your daily and weekly routine. This part describes the concept of "Base Level Fitness" which is a low impact technique that improves the muscle performance gradually over time. The program builds and maintains core strength and flexibility taking no more than 15 minutes per day which allows it to become an easy part of your daily schedule. Ideally suited to the senior golfer or the person who is constantly on the go, the low impact nature of the program builds on small increments of improvement over time avoiding muscle injury. Part III In this section we cover the specific exercises and how they are executed. The majority of the exercises are stretching routines that will have an immediate impact on increasing the range of motion of your swing to show improved results in swing distance. The strength exercises are designed to improve the "explosive" performance of the muscles which is key to the nature of the swing.
